Technology Guide

This section introduces Lotte Chemical’s production and processing technology and processes for each plant.

Plant #1 > EOA - LAE

The EOA plant produces the raw material for surfactants that mix water and oil well, having annual production capacity of 130 thousand tons. Built in technical partnership with Switzerland’s DPT Corporation, the plant is currently producing products such as LAE, NPE, PEG, MPEG, and TDE.

01 Warehousing of Raw Materials

The raw materials received by tank truck or ISO container are stored in the raw material tank.

02 Pre-treatment

Raw material feeding: Feed the raw materials from the raw material tank into the pre-treatment equipment.
Degassing: Eliminate the dissolved oxygen by creating a vacuum in the pre-treatment equipment.
Catalyst feeding: Feed the catalyst into the pre-treatment equipment.
Drying: Create a vacuum in the pre-treatment equipment and eliminate the moisture created at the time of catalytic reaction.
Transference: Transfer the catalyzed raw material to the reactor.

Reaction: Feed EO and make EOA through side reaction.
Aging: Cease feeding EO and continue the reaction until the non-reactive EO disappears.
Transference: Transfer reactive EOA to the post-treatment equipment.

04 Post-treatment

Neutralization: Adjust the pH by feeding neutralizing agents
Product warehousing: Transfer the completed products to the product tank.

05 Product Delivery

Deliver the products in the product tank to customers by tank truck or in drums.
